Our CPTC History...

Community Partners of Tarrant County was established in the late 1970's under the name "Kash for Kids", for the purpose of raising funds for Christmas gifts for foster children.

Kash for Kids was granted 501(c)3 status as a nonprofit in 1981.

In the mid-1980's the operation broadened to address other specialized needs of children in foster care by providing such things as graduation expenses, extra-curricular educational activities, sports, music lessons, special occasions- and more.

In 1990 the nonprofit expanded from supporting just those in foster care to include children still living at home with parents working with CPS. In the same year, the Rainbow Room was established on-site at Ben Avenue which stocked diapers, formula, food, and other donations for CPS clients in critical need.

In 1997 the Arlington Rainbow Room was opened through funding provided by The Junior League of Arlington. The membership of the Board was expanded in 1999 to allow for the appointment of additional board members from the community.

In 2001, Kash for Kids officially became the Community Partners of Tarrant County, Inc. IRS Tax ID #75-2913202
